We are preparing the land to get ready to plant pumpkins.
We atart with the sprayer.
We spray for weeds and try to spray down the rye.
The rye acts as a bed for the pumpkins to grow on. This keeps them clean.
Here we are planting the pumpkin seeds.
We plant them with our corn planter.
We leave rows to go back in and spray as they grow.
Slide 8 Who is this?
Here we are pumping water on the pumpkins. We try to do everything we can to grow a beautiful pumpkin.
We spray our pumpkins for fungicides and insects; to keep a good, healthy looking pumpkin.
You can see the bright yellow blooms through all the green vines. The bees work hard through out the day to pollinate the blooms.
We bin up our pumpkins in the fields then load the them on the trucks.
Here we are putting out corn stalks. There are good to decorate with your pumpkins and straw. This makes a great fall scene.
The rest of the slides are our set up at the Raleigh Farmers Market in 2002.

We grow all shapes and sizes, gourds too!
We worked hard to keep our lot clean just like we do in our fields.
The children loved the decorations and all the different size pumpkins to choose from.
This was our scarecrow of the year so he got to go to Raleigh with us
