Bottomley's is pleased to announce the 2007 season selections of pumpkins and gourds. Our pumpkin patch has grown to 800 acres and 14 varieties this year.
We give our pumpkins special treatment so they are prettier, cleaner, and last longer. Our pumpkins are planted through a cover crop such as rye so the pumpkins have a nice soft, clean bed to grow on so they will be clean and ready for sale. They are also sprayed weekly for insects and fungus which ensures the long life of the pumpkin. Some of our pumpkins have lasted past January

Aladdin This is a dark orange pumpkin with a nice dark stem. It averages about 25 - 35 pounds with some ridging. They are a nice round pumpkin and great for carving. Weight 25 - 35lbs. Photo courtesy of Harris Seeds
Appalachian This pumpkin is more like a Howden but with out the ridging. It is a deep orange, averaging 20 - 25 pounds in size. It has a thick solid wall and a thick large stem. Weight 20 - 25lbs. Photo courtesy of Harris Seeds
Apprentice This little pie averages around 1 pound and has a burnt orange color with a great dark stem. They have a nice smooth hard shell which is also great for painting or just decorations. Photo courtesy of Harris Seeds
Autumn Wing (Gourds) The Autumn Wing Gourds come in many unique colors and shapes. They are about 2 1/2 to 3" at the bulb with a neck up to 6" long. On the bulb they have little wings.
