Pumpkins

Bottomley's is pleased to announce the latest selections of pumpkins and gourds. We give our pumpkins special treatment so they are prettier, cleaner, and last longer. Our pumpkins are planted through a cover crop such as rye so the pumpkins have a nice soft, clean bed to grow on so they will be clean and ready for sale. They are also sprayed weekly for insects and fungus which ensures the long life of the pumpkin. Some of our pumpkins have lasted past January.

Aladdin

This is a dark orange pumpkin with a nice dark stem. It averages about 25-35 pounds with some ridging. They are a nice round pumpkin and great for carving.

Weight 25-35lbs.

Appalachian

This pumpkin is more like a Howden but without the ridging. It is a deep orange, averaging 20-25 pounds in size. It has a thick solid wall and a thick large stem.

Weight 20-25lbs.

Apprentice

This little pie averages around 1 pound and has a burnt orange color with a great dark stem. They have a nice smooth hard shell which is also great for painting or just decorations.

Autumn Wing (Gourds)

The Autumn Wing Gourds come in many unique colors and shapes. They are about 2 1/2 to 3" at the bulb with a neck up to 6" long. On the bulb they have little wings. These are a great fall and Halloween decoration for indoors and out. Their shape will remind you of a swan shape.

Gold Gem

This pumpkin is a nice golden orange with a great green stem. It averages around 22 pounds, and is also great for craving and painting.

Gold Metal

This pumpkin is a dark orange with a nice long green stem. It averages 25-40 pounds. This pumpkin is a great craving pumpkin or it is great for painting.

Weight 25-40 lbs.

Howden

This is a solid thick walled pumpkin. It is uniform size, ranging from 20 to 30 pounds. The skin is also ridging with a nice thick green stem.

Weight 20-30 lbs.

Howden Biggie

This is a large solid thick walled pumpkin. It is a deep orange with a thick green stem. It averages 35 to 60 pounds. The skin of the pumpkin has ridging and the shapes vary from tall to round.

Lil' Ironsides

This little pie averages 2 pounds and is a dark orange with a great dark stem. It also has a nice smooth hard shell.

Magic Lantern

This is a dark orange pumpkin with some ridging. It averages 16-24 pounds.

Weight 16-24lbs.

Magician

This little pie is a good orange color with some ridging. The skin is also hard. The weight is 8-16 pounds.

Merlin

This is a 15 - 25 pound pumpkin. It has a deep orange color with ridging. These pumpkins are uniform in size, shape, and color.

Pik-a-Pie

This pie pumpkin averages around 6 pounds and has a dark green large stem.  This pumpkin is great for small children and great for decoration.

Oz

This little pie is more of a light orange with a nice long green stem. It averages 3 - 5 pounds with a smooth, hard shell.
Weight 3-lbs.
